Guthy Renker ( is in search of a Creative Director.  This is a key leadership role that establishes the overall design vision, philosophy and work process for G/R’s internal design team and external agencies.  Responsibilities include developing and distributing best practices for the creative process, design and IA documentation.  The CD will hire, manage and mentor the internal creative team/manage external agency strategic input and deliverables - creating an environment where innovation and risk taking is encouraged.  Requirements include 10+ years’ experience as a Creative Director working with consumer brands, (beauty focus desirable), preferably with direct response experience.  A history of in-house agency management and client servicing.  Superior technical skills in Creative Suite with a strong sense of design, color, image composition and typography.  Extensive knowledge of both digital and print production, (some packaging experience desirable).  Resumes to:

The Assistant Manager, Product Development is responsible for managing the product development process, from formula concept to pilot production for assigned skincare and personal care categories. This position will interact with cross-functional teams, including R&D Formulation and Tech Transfer Teams, Marketing, Regulatory, Quality, Packaging, Procurement, and Finance. Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry or Biology required; MBA a plus; a minimum of 3-5 years of global product development/formulation experience in skincare and personal care, including OTC sunscreens.

Product Development Manager

Job Description

This position will lead and manage the product development process from its initial concept through final formula approval.  Product Development Managers work with a variety of large and small customers creating high quality skin, body and hair care products.  Collaborating with our Sales, Product Innovation, Research and Development and Account Management teams, the Product Development Manager is responsible for the following:

  • Create timelines externally and internally for each project, highlighting critical dates and making sure milestones are communicated and achieved.
  • Develop product briefs for the lab, working directly with customers to collect product information, while managing customer expectations, maximizing lab resources and meeting timelines.
  • Determine new product preliminary pricing targets for R&D and track development cogs to meet target. 
  • Evaluate products and become versed in evaluation terminology
  • Create product profiles for customer approved products
  • Work with Regulatory to obtain regulatory documentation for customer product approvals
  • Transition accounts to account management providing detailed information and follow-up to ensure a smooth transition
  • Coordinate preliminary fill weights for customer componentry
  • Assist in developing presentations for our new and existing customers
  • Attend and assist in customer meetings
  • Train on our Epicor system to be able to research information to perform job functions



  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business management or Research and Development
  • Minimum 3-5 years proven, results-oriented experience in hair, skin or personal care industry with a solid track record of managing the product development process



  • Highly organized and detail-oriented
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Multi-tasker who likes to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong knowledge and passion for beauty industry and beauty products
  • Effective problem-solver who is committed to producing products of exceptional quality
