BRAND MANAGER

Hemp and CBD products are on the rise in the beauty and CPG landscape. Our client is an innovative and trend-forward CPG company launching brands in skincare/personal care and beverages to the mass market. We have partnered on a search for a brand manager to spearhead product development and marketing of products launching 2019.

The ideal candidate is a highly creative and analytical brand manager with experience owning the P&L launching go-to-market strategies for household name brands into mass and specialty retailers. This position reports directly to the President.

Product Development

·         Spearhead project management over all aspects of commercial roll-out as the brand ambassador holding cross-functional teams accountable to meet launch dates

·         Vendor management partnering with contract manufacturer’s R&D teams to drive product development and testing

Requirements

·         5+ years of brand management experience CPG (beverages or cosmetics)

·         P&L management is required

The Regulatory and Quality Manager will research, document, maintain and ensure compliance of all production and regulatory requirements. This position will provide feedback and guidance throughout the product lifecycle commencing with the initial process of defining new product quality and regulatory requirements through final approval, market introduction, and existing product changes. 

Responsibilities 

• Creates and/or reviews all new and updated ingredient listing declaration for all products distributed by H2O+. This includes the formula IL and quantitative IL breakdown. 

Reviews all product artwork prior to release for ingredient listing accuracy, part number accuracy, legal address, and product warnings statements 

Prepares, submits and maintains documentation such as artwork, ingredient listing, and finished good specifications to domestic and international authorities for the application and establishment of all Product Registrations. This includes VCRP to US FDA. Maintains and amends these global regulatory filings as needed. 

Responsible for submission of product regulatory review to external consulting firms responsible for raw material international compliance and completion of safety and toxicological assessment 

• Maintains all product safety and stability testing documentation executed by R&D in centralized Product Ingredient File (PIF). 

• Creates and updates product quality technical manual guidelines and production specifications issued to contract manufacturing suppliers. 

• Maintains and creates, as required, product Certificate of Analysis (CofA) and Safety Data Sheets (SDS) 

• Documents, investigates, and assigns root cause/corrective action to all company customer complaints and nonconformance reports. 

• Provides technical engineering support to R&D, manufacturing and compounding 

• Any other responsibilities as assigned 


Qualifications and Skills

Stratia makes skincare that works. Our science-focused skincare line is a cult favorite among online beauty communities, and we develop and manufacture all our products in-house. Stratia is growing fast and we’re looking to hire the fourth member of our team.


Up until recently, all of Stratia’s growth was organic; we didn’t pay for marketing or advertising until late 2018, instead relying on word of mouth and social media. For a long time, we were just keeping up with demand, leaving us with no time to pursue anything else. PRIMARY FUNCTION:

The Manager of Packaging Engineering will provide leadership to a team of Engineers who will develop, evaluate and modify packaging for JAFRA Cosmetics International, Inc. The Manager of Package Engineering will be a primary contributor to the initial design and evolution of all primary and secondary packaging components for new skin care, color cosmetics, toiletries and fragrance product launches.


The Manager of Package Engineering will work closely with NPD (New Product Development) teams to develop packaging, solve issues and provide expert advice for the commercialization of quality finished goods. This position works frequently and directly with cross-functional teams, design agencies, packaging suppliers and contract manufacturers. 



ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design and development of all primary and secondary packaging requirements needed to support existing, new, re-staged and promoted products. 
  • Provides NPD team members with samples, working models, 3D drawings, prototypes and vendor samples to assist with final packaging selection by SVP of WW Marketing.
  • Assists in the development of new manufacturing processes or techniques when necessary.
  • In conjunction with QE, develops and establishes packaging testing criteria and conducts simulation testing to ensure “real-world” product quality performance for all packaging. This includes testing for shipping, consumer use, variations of temperatures/humidity etc. to establish shelf life requirements. Coordinates all packaging material specifications with R&D formula requirements to ensure product/packaging compatibility and stability.
  • Initiates cost reduction programs by identifying savings opportunities in packaging design, sourcing, material specifications, etc. to support corporate cost reduction goals.
  • Monitors trends and advances in packaging to keep organization current as well as capture new packaging innovation that meets business objectives. Serves as key trend spotter for cosmetic packaging.
  • Recommends materials used in both primary and secondary packaging and ensures packaging compliance with all applicable regulatory agencies.
  • Tracks and reports the development activities related to new components. Ensures adequate and on time availability of the identified requirements in support of launch dates for new products, re-launched products and promoted products.
  • Develops and maintains detailed component specifications and/or Tech Manuals for TPM’s (Third Party Manufacturers).
  • Supports implementation of new packaging specification management systems.
  • Supports the establishment of test methods and early go-no-go criteria to qualify new packaging for launches.
  • Provides live areas and technical direction on printing to Graphics team, based on experience and Supplier capabilities. Coordinates artwork and color match approvals

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION:B.S. in Packaging, Industrial Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering. 


EXPERIENCE:5 years packaging development experience, with a minimum of 3 years of experience in the cosmetics or personal care industry.  Ideal experience is in both new packaging development and laboratory testing of packaging materials.


SKILLS:

  • Knowledge of manufacturing techniques and processes associated with packaging materials. Specifically: injection molding, blow molding, glass molding and manufacturing of secondary and tertiary packaging. 
  • Knowledge of project time lines and project schedules.
  • Experience with tubes, jars, bottles, pumps, caps, labels, folding cartons and characteristics of various materials.

Position Summary

The Regional VP of Sales will provide sales leadership and direction to assigned Account Executives to ensure individual and regional sales goals are met. The desired background we are seeking

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related areas from an accredited college or university

  • Business-to-Business sales leadership with complex sales cycle and customizable product/high SKU count required; Prior experience in the beauty industry is a plus
  • Proven record of building and growing a sales team and meeting/exceeding annual sales and profitability goals
  • Prior experience with China-based or global manufacturing is strongly desired
  • Salesforce knowledge is preferred but not required
  • Ability to travel up to 35% travel in your assigned territory and to attend industry trade shows

West Coast Account Manager


Global Ingredient Solutions, headquartered in Tustin, CA, is a west coast distributor of specialty raw materials for the Cosmetic and Personal Care Industries.  This position is responsible for developing customer relationships and offering solutions based on the company’s existing portfolio of products. 


Summary:

  • Possess knowledge of product lines with the ability to present active ingredients, to include physical characteristics, applications, formulation requirements, and competitive products
  • Build Relationships
    • Build relationships with key contacts at all levels from chemists and purchasing to executive level/management
    • Make frequent sales visits to customers (minimum four days a week on sales visits); understand projects in development and how Global Ingredient Solutions concepts can apply
    • Organize lunches and/or dinners with customers as needed, subject to approval

ALGENIST - Manager, demand planning

We are currently looking for a Demand Planning Manager to help take our beauty brand to the next level! The incumbent must have a passion for skincare, retail and distribution. This position will work closely with Sales, Marketing and Operations to drive effective S&OP collaboration, plan, develop, execute and maintain healthy inventory levels for all distribution channels.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Introduce best forecasting practices & SOP based on company needs
  • Prepare background information to support sales forecasting
  • Gather historical sales trends, research/validate demand drivers and develop statistical 12 month rolling forecast model for over 600 top level SKUs (New, Core and Promotional combined)
  • Prepare various reports - KPIs (key performance indicators) as well as diagnostic measures to analyze and recommended courses of action for the operational forecast in NetSuite
  • Prepare, maintain and publish new launch sell in reports, statistical forecasts to monitor and assess performance and trends
  • Work with the Sales and Marketing teams to integrate market intelligence into the forecasts
  • Prepare, facilitate and drive Monthly S&OP
  • Assure required maintenance of codes in NetSuite, including code mapping, discontinuation, product life cycle status and strategic indicator.
  • Provide Brand ad-hoc reports to assist Global Planning, Finance, Supply or Sales in ongoing management of their business areas.
  • Implement any forecast changes resulting from the forecast review meeting (S&OP)
  • Validate unforecasted demand to avoid future supply gaps
  • Measure and report forecast accuracy
  • Analyze trends and identify opportunities for improving the accuracy of future sales forecasts
  • Review past forecasting performance and identify major forecast variances
  • Identify and report on any significant variances between forecasted sales and the organization’s budgets


QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field and or 5 years of relevant experience

  • Advance analytical skills
  • ERP/MRP experience, NetSuite preferred
  • Strong in Excel, intermediate or Advance preferred. Strong analytical skills required.
  • 3 years experience within Demand Planning, Sales Planning or Supply Chain preferred
  • Direct experience in skincare and color cosmetics packaging development, at least 5 years
  • Proven success in identifying and implementation of process improvements in inventory management, control and SOP establishment.
  • Familiarity with fulfillment and logistical functions is a must. This includes bill of materials, SKU and UPC product management
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Project or other project management software preferred
  • Must be a self-starter with the ability to work independently
  • Must possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, the ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization and enjoy working in a fast paced, team oriented environment
  • Must be high energy and responsive individual
  • Cosmetic or Consumer Packaged Goods industry experience - a plus
