Stress harms both morale and productivity in almost every workplace. .The American Psychological Association's 2017 survey of 3,440 adults found employee stress is highly pervasive with sixty-one percent of Americans reporting that they are continuously stressed about work. Stress distracts employees from getting their jobs done and costs millions in lost time and productivity. Stress is probably at an all-time high thanks to today's advanced technology. Working on the internet fosters beliefs that one must respond immediately, and this can be a great stressor. Stressed employees do not think clearly, their creativity is reduced, and they're more prone to mistakes, all of which can impact negatively. A variety of factors in the workplace can lead to stress, such as unreasonable or unreachable deadlines, toxic coworkers and poor job fit to a worker’s skills are the three most common factors. Workplaces need more areas where employees can socialize and decompress during breaks. And stress often leads to higher turnover due to longer and longer work days, high job demands, too many responsibilities, and a lack of peer or executive level support. Dr. Murad will explore how to counteract some of these ongoing stresses.
Biography - Howard Murad, M.D. is recognized around the world as a leading visionary for his unmatched scientific innovations. A board-certified dermatologist, trained Pharmacist and Associate Clinical Professor of Medicine at the David Geffen School of Medicine, UCLA, Dr. Murad has personally treated over 50,000 patients. In 1989, he founded Murad skin care to share his groundbreaking skin care formulas, which were among the first to achieve significant, measurable results without surgery.
